SRAM S500 Eagle XG-1299 Cassette 10-52, 12-speed, gold
S500 is the designation SRAM uses to market the XG-1299 (XX1 Eagle level) in its original equipment line. The same high-end X-Dome cassette, in 10-52T and gold finish.
- Gearing: 10-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-36-42-52T (520% range)
- Construction: X-Dome architecture: ten cogs machined from a single block of steel and an aluminum largest cog joined by pins. Maximum stiffness with minimum weight.
- Driver body: SRAM XD (not compatible with HG or Micro Spline).
- Finish: Gold, the classic gold finish of SRAM's high-end range.
- Compatibility: 12-speed SRAM Eagle drivetrains (mechanical and AXS) with Eagle chain. Not compatible with Eagle Transmission (T-Type).
For gravel, it is the basis for mullet builds: Eagle AXS derailleur with road AXS shifters, for those who need near-MTB gearing for technical climbs or loaded bikepacking.
